Virginia, also known as the Old Dominion State, is one of the original 13 colonies. It is located on the East Coast of the United States and is bordered by Maryland, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Here at The Board Tourist, we’ve put together a list of the Top 10+1 things to see and do in Virginia. Virginia’s capital is Richmond and its largest city is Virginia Beach. The climate in Virginia ranges from humid subtropical to oceanic and the state experiences all four seasons. The economy of Virginia is diversified and includes agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, manufacturing, and tourism. The cost of living in Virginia is relatively high but there are many good jobs available. Education levels are also high, with over half of the population having a bachelor’s degree or higher. Crime rates in Virginia are low compared to other states. Virginia is a great place to live if you enjoy the outdoors, history, and good jobs. Some must-see places in Virginia include Shenandoah National Park, the Chesapeake Bay, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
